Description: Due to a resurgence in recent years of an interest from organizations and passengers wanting to cruise the Great Lakes. Currently, there are five (5) passenger cruise ships operating on Lake Erie, with an estimated potential for twenty-two (22) additional vessels based on various qualifying factors. Initial estimates indicate that the industry’s gross revenues could grow to $25M based on findings from a 2018 Great Lakes Cruise Strategy Study commissioned by the Town of Midland, ON. ECHDC is pleased to issue this request for proposals (“RFP”) for a study of cruise ship market demand in the Buffalo/Niagara region.
