INVITATION TO BIDDERS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: That the City Clerk of the City of Amsterdam on the 18th day of October, 2023 at 11:00 AM at City Hall, 61 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York, will publicly open and read all sealed bids and proposals received pursuant to this notice for the furnishing of work, labor and materials in connection with the DEMOLITION of 5 CORNERS PLAZA

for the City of Amsterdam as follows:

The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery tools, equipment and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work and described in these specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Demolition and removal of the 5 CORNERS PLAZA.
  • Clearing of trees and brush within 20 feet of the structure – Cut flush to ground NO GRUBBING
  • The buildings will be demolished per NYSDOL ICR-56 11.5 – Controlled Demolition with Asbestos in Place.
  • NYSDOL variance is pending,and will be in place prior to award of contract. Building complex has been deemed “Unsafe to Enter” by City of Amsterdam Fire Department.

Each bid must be submitted on the official forms included in the Project Manual issued from the offices stated in the Instructions to Bidders. The name of the bidder and the contract for which bid is submitted shall be indicated on a sealed envelope.

Bid documents may be obtained on electronic media between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, in the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 61 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or via email with a prior call to the City Clerk to verify contact information at 518-841-4313.

A non-refundable fee of fifteen ($15.00) will be required for each complete set of bidding documents. Payment for all documents must be made in cash or certified check or bank check and all said checks must be made payable to the City of Amsterdam. Please contact the city Clerk’s Office for information at 518-841-4313

. BID PACKAGES MUST BE OBTAINED THROUGH THE CITY CLERK OF AMSTERDAM BY THE PROCESS DESCRIBED ABOVE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED DURING THE BID OPENING PROCESS. BIDS RECEIVED VIA EMAIL OR OTHER ELECTRONIC FORMAT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR AWARD.

All sealed bids or proposals must be received by the City Clerk of the City of Amsterdam prior to 11:00 a.m. October 18, 2023 the date on which all sealed bids or proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.

All work of this Contract must be substantially complete on or before November 23, 2023, and ready for Final Payment by December 8, 2023.
