   1. monitoring vital signs in rodents undergoing brain surgery

1. Prizmatix Optogenetics System
   1. Four optogenetics systems for manipulating neuronal activity in real time

1. Custom-made Behavior System
   1. Eight-box Coulbourn-controlled behavioral system

1. Single-box electrophysiology recording system
   1. Tucker-Davis in-vivo electrophysiological recording system integrated with a fully customized Med-Associates conditioning box

1. Fluorescent microscope
   1. Fluorescent microscope for visualizing expression of viral injections in optogenetics and DREADDs experiments

1. Two (two) articulated microscopes
   1. two articulated microscopes for brain surgery and electrode construction fitted with cameras connected to PC monitors (for teaching purposes).

1. Two (two) infusions pumps
   1. Two Kent Scientific infusion pumps for pharmacological manipulations of brain pathways
