Description: REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Village of Voorheesville, All Access Complete Streets Policy and Plan issued by Capital Region Transportation Council Albany, N.Y. October 5, 2023 The Capital Region Transportation Council (“Transportation Council”) is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) carrying out federal requirements for cooperative transportation planning and programming within Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties (except the Town of Moreau and the Village of South Glens Falls). The Transportation Council is requesting expressions of interest from qualified forms or individuals to undertake the All Access Complete Streets Policy and Plan in the Village of Voorheesville, New York. This study proposes to conduct a transportation safety assessment and prepare a Village-wide Complete Streets Policy and Plan with the aim of improving pedestrian and bicyclist safety and mobility. The plan will build upon the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail and ongoing sidewalk and on-road infrastructure improvements within the Village to improve safety and expand mobility choices for both Village residents and visitors. The study is being funded by the Transportation Council and the Village of Voorheesville through the Transportation Council’s 2023-24 Unified Planning Work Program as part of the Community and Transportation Linkage Planning Program. The plan has a fixed budget of $55,000 for consultant services. The Transportation Council, on behalf of the Village of Voorheesville, will administer the consultant contract and will jointly manage the study with the Village. The Transportation Council and the Village of Voorheesville would like to see this study completed within 12 calendar months from the date of contract execution. Rima Shamieh will serve as the project manager and will be the primary contact for technical and administration questions. Contact Latanya Sellie at the Transportation Council for a complete copy of the REI. Both Rima and Latanya can be reached by calling 518-458-2161 or emailing info@capitalmpo.org . Letters of interest are due at 5:00 PM EST on Friday, November 3, 2023 via email to info@capitalmpo.org or on a USB flash drive to the Capital Region Transportation Council, One Park Place, Suite 101, Albany NY 12205.
