Description: Furnish, Deliver and Install LaneLight In-Road Crosswalk Systems (or
Yonkers approved equal)
The City of Yonkers is looking for a contractor with experience in providing In-Road Crosswalk
Systems for eight (8) locations within the City of Yonkers. In addition to the products being
requested, installation and labor shall be required and training. The equipment and services
provided under this Invitation for Bid may be used for the purchase of future additional units, at the City’s sole discretion.

SUMMARY OF WORK
The work shall consist of the installation of a fully functioning solar powered, wireless
in-roadway warning light (IRWL) and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB)
system(s) at eight (8) existing crosswalks.
The work shall include the following, but not limited to,:

1. Notification of the businesses and residents, and posting of “NO PARKING”
   signage.
2. Installation of each system’s wireless activator, light module/housings and IRWL
   lights.
3. Installation of the pedestrian push button assemblies on new poles as defined in the Department of Transportation Traffic Safety and Mobility Instruction Guidelines (ATTACHMENT “B”) and NYSDOT Specifications (ATTACHEMENT “C”).
4. Pole excavation and installation of concrete foundations for the required poles.
5. Furnishing of new spare in-roadway lights.
6. Dust alleviation and control, sweeping, and site cleanup.
7. Mobilization, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic, and other incidentals required
   to complete the work
8. All work shall comply with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
   Devices (MUTCD) 2009 Edition, the NYS MUTCD Supplement 2010 Edition and
   in accordance with the Region 8 NYSDOT Standard Specifications and Standard
   Sheets, May 1, 2023 (or later) and any other applicable laws, regulations or statutes.
