Solicitation of Interest

SUNY Upstate Medical University intends to contract for a Digital Spatial Profiling System(DSP). The system must have the unique ability to simultaneously quantify several hundred RNA transcripts and several proteins at a time in tissue sections from any source. The basis for this is the use of next generation sequencing to detect short DNA barcoded sequences that have been hybridized to the tissue to detect specific RNAs and proteins within their complete anatomical context. Combined with its high-resolution imaging capabilities, this enables direct quantification and subcellular, cellular, and tissue-level localization of molecules of interest, without the need to disrupt the tissue or extract cells from it. Notably, the technology must also make use of at least 20 different barcoded probes for each target of interest, and this makes it both much more sensitive and more specific than any other available technology.

Digital Spatial Profiling (DSP) System Requirements:

1). Must be capable of simultaneously quantifying and localizing 500 or more RNAs at cellular or subcellular resolution

2). Must be compatible with use on both fresh and formalin-fixed tissues

3). Must be compatible with use on tissue from human, mouse, and other model organisms

4). Must enable pathogen detection and quantification if needed

5). Must enable protein detection at lower throughput

6). Must incorporate sequencing or imaging-based digital quantification that enables data to be rendered in high spatial resolution across tissue samples

7). Must be eligible to do business in New York State

To indicate interest in and eligibility to provide these services, please submit a letter of interest of not more than six (6) pages describing the Responding Vendor’s proficiency and experience in meeting the requirements including fulfilling the Minimum Qualifications for Eligible Vendors.
