Description: The New York State Bridge Authority (NYSBA) is seeking proposals from licensed professional engineering firms to provide biennial bridge inspection services for its Hudson River crossings. NYSBA intends to hire three (3) Consultants, with each Consultant inspecting one main bridge and its ancillary structures and approaches per year. Each Consultant will inspect a different main bridge each year of the three (3) year contract. The required services include project coordination/office support and field services necessary to complete bridge inspection and inventory work for structures identified by NYSBA. Results shall be documented using photographs, sketches and remarks in accordance with NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Manual. Successful Consultants shall also be prepared to use NYSDOT's Bridge Inspection Software (BDIS) to document results. Successful Consultants shall demonstrate to NYSBA an extensive history of similar bridge inspection performance delivered to the operators of bridges of the type and size operated by NYSBA. Extensive familiarity with large suspension bridges and bridges of through truss and under deck truss biennial inspections (cantilevered and continuous) is necessary.
