Description:

SUNY Upstate Medical University, located in Syracuse, New York seeks a vendor to provide a software system/subscription to help its Clinical Pathology Lab optimize staff productivity and produce reports for quality assurance from its laboratory data. Service would be provided at Upstate’s main downtown campus as well at its Community Campus location. Upstate's current lab system is Sunquest (Clinisys).

The vendors proposed software should provide at minimum the following specifications:

Allow the Director or Manager to be able to quickly create data driven reports for review.

  • Provide Key Performance Indicator reports for the entire laboratory. The reports should be able to be created and emailed on a daily basis to allow for quick resolution of issues. Should also allow for automated reports with outliers.
  • Should allow the Lab to quickly evaluate test turnaround times and volume reports.
  • Provide a reporting module for Quality metrics including Point of Care (POC).
  • Must be able to provide comparison of Upstate’s metrics to minimally 100 other laboratories located in the United States.
  • Software will allow Upstate to evaluate the need to make process improvements so the Laboratory is competitive in the market.
  • Software should focus on laboratory analytics with trained medical technologists to implement, train, and support its clients.
  • Must have an Acute Kidney Injury alert tool to assist with patient safety.
  • Not require data to be hosted or in the cloud.
  • Not have a requirement for an HL interface.
  • Should provide LIS extracts from all major lab information systems.
  • Provide video training on demand for new staff or refresher for others.
  • Must be user friendly, allowing for little or no IT assistance.
  • Must provide dedicated support and maintenance.
  • Software must be available 24/7, 365 days/year, including a help desk.
  • Provide for unlimited licenses.

Minimum vendor qualifications:

  • Vendor is eligible to do business with New York State.
  • Vendor has a minimum of 3 years experience working with similar size institutions as Upstate.
  • Provide unlimited, dedicated account support.
  • Provide implementation on training and use of the software to be included in the cost.
