Aspen Learning Library with Study Aids Collection
Description:

The City University of New York, on behalf of the CUNY School of Law intends to procure the Main Aspen Learning Library with the Academic Study Aids Collection. The Aspen Learning Library collection includes course-specific study aids, as well as more general titles on academic success in law school, focusing on topics such as legal analysis and exam-taking skills. It also includes some video and audio content for the School of Law Library, to be used by faculty, staff and students.

Product Requirements : Vendor must be able to sell/resell access to the unique Aspen platform, including access to the following Series collections:

  • Examples & Explanations: Examples & Explanations (E&E) series provides an alternative perspective to help you understand your casebook and in-class lectures. Each E&E offers hypothetical questions complemented by detailed explanations that allow you to test your knowledge of the topics in your law school courses and compare your own analysis.
  • Emanuel Law Outlines: support your class preparation, provide a reference for your outline creation, and supply a comprehensive breakdown of topic matter for your entire study process. Created by Steven Emanuel, these course outlines have been relied on by generations of law students. Each title includes capsule and detailed versions of the critical issues and key topics you must know to master the course. Also included are exam questions with model answers, an alpha list of cases, and a cross-reference table of cases for all of the leading casebooks.
  • Glannon Guides: can help you better understand your classroom lecture with straightforward explanations of challenging concepts with hypos that help you comprehend their application. The Glannon Guide is your proven partner throughout the semester when you need a supplement to (or substitute for) a law school classroom lecture. The Glannon Guides often feature titles focused on specific areas of law, such as Torts, Civil Procedure, Contracts, etc. Each guide uses a question-and-answer format, providing hypothetical scenarios and explaining the legal principles involved.
  • Emanuel CrunchTime: is the perfect tool for exam studying. With flowcharts and capsule summaries of major points of law and critical issues, as well as exam tips for identifying common traps and pitfalls, sample exam and essay questions with model answers. The series typically covers various subjects in law, such as Contracts, Torts, Constitutional Law, etc.
  • Casenote Legal Briefs: After your casebook, a Casenote Legal Brief is your most important reference source for the entire law school semester. Expert legal case studies, analyses, and quicknote definitions of legal terms help you prepare for your law school class discussion. With dozens of Casenote Legal Briefs, you can find the Casenote to work with your assigned casebook and give you an extra understanding of all cases. Casenotes in 1L subjects include a Quick Course Outline to help you understand the relationships between your 1L course topics.
  • Inside Series: offers comprehensive coverage of specific legal topics, such as "Inside Constitutional Law" or "Inside Criminal Law." Each book provides detailed discussions, case analyses, and explanations of relevant legal principles, aiming to give law students a clear and accessible exploration of key concepts.

Vendor Requirements: Prospective vendors must be authorized by Aspen Publishing to sell/resell licenses to these services and must meet, at a minimum, the product requirements described above:

1) documentation verifying that the Vendor can meet the minimum product requirements.

2) a letter or other document from Aspen Publishing. verifying the Vendor’s authority to provide these services.

Any contract that results from this advertisement shall be governed by the University’s standard Terms and Conditions, Purchase Order, and the Standard Clauses for New York State Contracts, version June 2023 (Appendix A).

Compliance with the PLA:

Under the requirements of the Procurement Lobbying Act (PLA), all communications regarding advertised projects are to be channeled through the Designated Contact. Communication with respect to this procurement initiated by or on behalf of the interested vendor through others than the Designated Contact may constitute an " impermissible contact" under NYS law and could result in disqualification of that vendor. The “Restricted Period” under the PLA has begun.

The services sought by the CUNY School of Law were not supplied by a foreign business enterprise during the three-year period immediately preceding this anticipated contract.

Required Forms : Vendor shall complete, sign and submit the following forms if they are selected.

“Offerer’s Affirmation of Understanding of and Agreement pursuant to State Finance Law §139-j(3) and §139-j(6)(b)”

“Offerer’s Disclosure of Prior Non-Responsibility Determinations and Certification of Compliance with State Finance Law §139-j and §139-k”
