GENERAL: a) To provide the best adhesion to cold oil, the cleanest possible aggregates are required. Standard sizes of washed, screened & crushed gravel shall exceed the New York State Specifications 703.02.These items have been included to address specific needs for cold mix paving and surface treatment applications. b) Aggregate meeting the requirements of NYSDOT Tables 703-2, and 703-3 shall be accepted unless service records indicate that it is unsound or that the material is otherwise determined to be unsatisfactory by the Owner.

MATERIALS: a) All materials shall be CRUSHED and screened. b) Aggregates shall be in conformance with NYSDOT Section 410-2.02, as modified herein to allow local native stone. 4. CRUSHED LIMESTONE a) Crushed limestone, shall be Material Designation 703-0201 and shall consist of clean, durable, sharp-angled fragments of rock of uniform quality. The crushed stone used as coarse aggregate for all items shall be obtained from sources conforming to the requirements of the Department as to sampling, testing methods, Quarry Reports and any other requiredprocedures. b) The N.Y.S.D.O.T. Material acceptance Certificate and Number must accompany bid. Bids submitted without a materials certificate and number shall not be considered. c) Materials shall meet the applicable requirements of Table 703-3 Physical Requirements (Deleterious Materials) and requiredgradation. 5. CRUSHED STONE / CRUSHEDGRAVEL a) Material meeting standard NYSDOT sizes of washed, screened stone/gravel complying with New York State Department of Transportation Specifications 703.0201, Table 703.4. Materials shall meet the applicable requirements of Table 703-3 Physical Requirements (Deleterious Materials) and required gradation.
