REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS & PROPOSALS
Roberson Museum and Science Center (Roberson) is seeking proposals for professional services for the development of bid documents and construction administration pertaining to masonry restoration at Roberson Mansion, Carriage House, and surrounding iron and masonry fence. This project is funded in part by a grant from the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation through Title 9 of the Environmental Protection Act of 1993. Roberson intends to hire an Architect with historic preservation experience for creation of construction documentation and construction evaluation for the rehabilitation of specific areas of masonry on the building façade using the provided Masonry Condition Report dated July 27, 2022. Roberson intends to accomplish the proposed project in eight months from start of restoration to completion. Architects responding to this proposal must have experience using the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and Preservation. Roberson Museum will receive sealed bids for the architectural component of the Masonry and Fence project until 12:00 PM local time on Friday, March 22nd, 2024 (to the attention of Michael Grasso, Executive Director) at the Reception Desk of the Roberson Museum and Science Center, 30 Front St., Binghamton, NY 13905. Late arrivals will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by a Roberson designee in the Carousel Theater at the Roberson Museum and Science Center at 12:15 PM. Bidders are not required to be present.
