Wayne County, in partnership with the Wayne County Industrial Development Agency, is seeking input on the redevelopment of the former Butler Correctional Facility through a Request For Expressions of Interest (RFEI). This RFEI aims to facilitate the repurposing of the former Butler Correctional facility to a productive use.

The RFEI seeks to solicit interest from real estate developers, businesses, community stakeholders, and other interested parties in the redevelopment of this site. Comments received from respondents will be used to improve the concepts, clarify any obstacles to achieving the redevelopment concepts, substantiate interest and support, and identify the need to conduct pre-development work. The information collected may also be used to gather information for the real property disposition process with the State of New York.
