The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Lake Erie Fisheries Research Unit is seeking bids for a habitat creation project near Shorehaven Reef in Lake Erie, located approximately 5 miles southwest of Barcelona Harbor, NY and 23 miles northeast of Erie, PA. The goal of this project is to create additional lake trout spawning habitat to aid in species rehabilitation. Lake trout require clean rock containing deep interstitial spaces in which eggs can become lodged and be protected from weather and predators. These habitats require both appropriate slope and relief off the bottom to be successful. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (“NYSDEC” or the “Department”) is seeking a responsive and responsible Contractor to construct these reef habitats.

Pursuant to the State Finance Law Sections 139-j and 139-k, this IFB, RFP, etc. includes and imposes certain restrictions on communications between a Governmental Entity and an Offerer / Proposer during the procurement process. Bidders / Proposers shall adhere to the NYS DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION GUIDELINES REGARDING PERMISSIBLE CONTACTS DURING A PROCUREMENT AND THE PROHIBITION OF INAPPROPRIATE LOBBYING INFLUENCE.
