The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following: Providing temporary air conditioning units and the installation of humidity control equipment in various classrooms and musical storage rooms. This work will also include piping, electrical, and installation of temp air conditioning and humidity units.

Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents. Accordingly, a deposit check ( $49 for printed set OR $25 for electronic copy ) made payable to SUNY Fredonia is required. Bid documents can also be purchased electronically using a credit card or bank account – Contact campus for details. Deposits less than $50.00 are nonrefundable.

All prospective bidders must obtain official bid documents from SUNY Fredonia pursuant to SFL §143 above. This will also allow for inclusion on the project’s Plan Holders List and direct receipt of any Addenda and/or Clarifications that may be issued. Bids submitted by contractors who have obtained bid forms in any other manner will be considered informal.

There will be no mandatory pre-bid meeting for this project; however, contractors wanting to schedule a project walk-through should contact the project manager, Ken Schmitz, via email at Kenneth.Schmitz@fredonia.edu or via phone at 716-673-3722. Said walk-through must be completed no later than January 3, 2023; therefore, contractors must plan accordingly and allow sufficient time when scheduling since all meetings will be accommodated as the project manager’s schedule will allow and cannot be guaranteed. Note that the deadline for all RFIs will be 1:00 PM on January 4, 2023.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.

It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. State Finance Law §§139-j and 139-k imposes certain restrictions on communications between a Governmental Entity and a Bidder during the procurement process. During the restricted period the Bidder is restricted from making contacts to other than designated contact unless it is a contact that is included among certain statutory exceptions set forth in State Finance Law §139-j(3)(a).
