The City of Johnstown is soliciting sealed written bids for 300 pieces of new pre-cast interlocking blocks commonly referred to as mafia blocks. The blocks should be similar to common v-block style design. The blocks should be 2 feet in width by 2 feet in height by 6 feet in length. The blocks weigh approximately 3500 lbs. A lifting eye cast into top of the block or similar lifting point will be required.

If the manufacturing location is located within 75 miles of the City of Johnstown (zip 12095) the City will provide transportation for the blocks. The transportation will have to be scheduled in stages due to the number of blocks being transported. If the manufacturing location of the blocks is located outside of 75 miles from the City of Johnstown the bidder should include a shipping estimate in a separate line item on the sealed bid.

Interested bidders should include in their sealed bid a per block price as well as a total cost for 300 pieces, a shipping estimate if needed based on the above criteria and an estimated time of order completion. The winning bidder will be selected mainly based on the per block bid price. However the City of Johnstown reserves the right to utilize transportation costs to select the most financially responsible bid for the City.

The City of Johnstown also reserves the right to alter the quantity of blocks being ordered based on available funds either by increasing or decreasing the amount of blocks to be ordered.

Interested bidders should return their sealed written bids to the City Clerk’s office located in Johnstown City Hall at 33-41 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY 12095. Sealed bids will be due by 11:00 am on August 9, 2023 and bids will be publicly opened at that time. Received bids will then be evaluated by the City and the winning bid will be presented to the common council for approval at the August 21, 2023 common council meeting. Once the bid is awarded by the common council the winning bidder will be notified of their successful bid.

The City of Johnstown hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
