Yates County has received a Round 1 ReConnect grant (project designator NY1702- A61) through the Rural Utility Service (hereinafter “RUS”), an agency which administers the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Utilities Programs (hereinafter “USDA Rural Development” or the “Agency.”) The grant will be used for the design and installation of a fiber optic network in Yates County. The project will be implemented in three phases: Phase 1A – the backbone network, Phase 1B – distribution network in the western portion of the County, Phase 2 – distribution network in the middle portion of the County and Phase 3 – distribution fiber in the eastern portion of the County. Material bids for Phase 1A OSP, fiber for all phases and other selected materials have already been completed. This bid is for remaining materials needed for Phase 1B and other key OSP materials.
