Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), under a Prime Contract for the operation of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), herewith is soliciting proposals to furnish an Ambient Pressure-Hard X-Ray Photoelectron Spectometer (AP-HAXPES).

This procurement is for the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). The AP-HAXPES instrument, hereafter referred to as "the Equipment," shall be designed to study solid samples under conditions including ultra-high vacuum, gas pressures at least 10 mbar, and liquid environments. Three photon energies less than 6 ke V should be included to allow a range of sample depths to be probed. This new system will enable the determination of chemical and electronic properties of various materials under different environments that mimic application conditions, which is of importance to the characterization of nanomaterials under operating conditions.
