Farmingdale State College is soliciting providers to supply the college with Cable TV service.

Requirements: Provider will be responsible for all headend equipment and costs needed to receive the Cable TV signal at the location as well as all content acquisition costs, including any fees or extras. The college has a fiber distributed RF network to the remote locations in various buildings on campus. The provider will insert their signal into this network at the data center facility in Greenley Library. The signal shall be distributed as Clear QAM. The use of cable boxes or other equipment at the remote buildings on the campus will not be permitted. Up to 30 locations shall be supported. The provider shall be required to provide an EAS (Emergency Alert System) that will provide automatic distribution of any important emergency information, such as weather and AMBER alerts. The system shall be compliant with any FCC or other applicable regulatory agency requirements.

Channel Lineup: See the below cable lineup for details on the requested channels. Any proposal should attempt to include this lineup in the base price or provide costs to add the requested channels to the provider’s base price. In addition, a campus channel shall be supported and allowed to be inserted into the lineup by the college. All channels shall be HD unless the content provider does not broadcast in HD. If a channel becomes unavailable, the provider shall replace that channel (pending the College’s approval) with a channel of similar content. The provider shall allow for the channel numbers to be assigned by the college.

Pricing/Billing: Pricing shall be inclusive of all costs and shall be provided on an annual rate. No fees or pricing adjustments will be allowed for the duration of the term. Billing shall be on a monthly basis, prorated at the annual rate.

Site Survey: If the provider requires a site survey, please contact the technical contact to schedule an appointment for access no later than COB Thursday, January 26, 2023. The college will make the facility available to the prospective provider within 5 calendar days of the request. Any request received after COB January 26, 2023 will not be honored and the provider may make a proposal with or without a site survey.

SUNY intends to make an award under our discretionary authority, pursuant to NYS
Education Law §355(5)(a), which is up to $125,000, for the above noted
