The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is soliciting bids for the purchase and delivery of a new shellfish vessel. This watercraft will be utilized by the DMR Shellfish Harvest Area Classification Unit (SHACU) to conduct water sampling within the Marine District of New York for the classification (certification) of shellfish lands for shellfish harvest, as mandated by the Environmental Conservation Law and based on national standards required by the FDA and Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference (ISSC) as well as New York State regulations.
