Allegany County is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants to assist with updating
the 2019-2023 Allegany County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (hereinafter
called the “Plan”) in accordance with FEMA’s Local Mitigation Planning Policy Guide,
effective as of April 19, 2023, and other current standards. This Plan has been developed to
fulfill federal, state, and local hazard mitigation planning responsibilities; to promote preand
post-disaster mitigation measures, short and long range strategies to minimize
suffering, loss of life, and damage to property that may result from hazardous or potentially
hazardous conditions to which citizens and institutions within Allegany County are
exposed; and to eliminate or minimize conditions that may have an undesirable impact on
the citizens, economy, environment, and well-being of Allegany County.
