This SOI is being issued The Jewish Board (JBFCS) has made the decision to close the program.

While the aim is to close by June 30, 2023, the actual closure date will be based upon a closure plan that includes a warm handoff between the new provider and the school, along with completion of all OMH licensing protocols by both Jewish Board (JBFCS) and the new provider.

Eligibility Requirements

Respondent must be existing OMH licensed Article 31 provider and/or provider who currently operates a child/adolescent day treatment program in New York City.

Program Description

Day treatment services for children and adolescents provide intensive, non-residential services. The program is characterized by a blend of mental health and education services provided in a fully integrated program. Typically, these programs include education in small classes with an emphasis on individualized instruction, individual and group counseling, family services such as family counseling, crisis intervention, interpersonal skill development and behavior modification. Children and adolescents receiving day treatment services live at home or in the community, but are identified by their school district as seriously emotionally disturbed and cannot be maintained in regular classrooms.

Program Deliverables

  • Provide individual, and family counseling/therapy to youth and caregiver attending the day treatment program
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Skill development and behavioral interventions for youth
  • Decrease behavioral issues within the classroom
  • Increase academic performance of youth
  • Administer medications during the school day if youth is on medication/receive medication education
  • Treatment planning, family collaterals as appropriate
