OVERVIEW

This project scope details the work required to convert the five buildings at Spring Brook Village in Kingston, NY, to smart digital thermostatic control with new PTHP units.

The existing apartments have a combination of electric strip heat and PTHP heat pumps. The electric baseboard is connected to a wireless system in each apartment. The heat pumps are manually controlled.

The new Embue thermostats will control the new PTHP units and existing electric strip heat in the bedrooms. The thermostats will be connected to a series of wireless signal repeaters which will be located in maintenance closets. The signal repeaters will be connected to the internet through an existing building router in the largest building and new cellular routers in the other buildings. From the central Embue platform all thermostats can be monitored and remotely controlled on a continual basis.

SCOPE OF WORK

Summary

• Provide & install 338 thermostats and remote temperature / humidity sensors. These units will be installed in apartments in all 5 buildings to control new PTHP units and existing bedroom electric strip heat.
• Install the owner supplied PTHP conversion 24-volt card in each new Amana PTHP for connecting the new Embue thermostat.
• Install 5’ of new low voltage wire mold on the wall to the new location of the thermostat. Exact location of thermostat to be determined on site, typically 48” above finished floor on an internal wall.
• Install 14 new Embue Core repeaters as required by Embue.
• 2 years warranty on Embue equipment, 1 year warranty on supplied parts and labor.
