This contract is for courier services required on an as-needed basis to pick up lab specimens and transport from Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) and Secure Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (STARC), Marcy, NY to Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, New York. The distance between the locations is 9.2 miles. CNYPC and STARC are located on the same campus.

This service is needed because there are times when a particular lab specimen (a) needs to be analyzed as soon as possible (as opposed to waiting for courier service through our Research Institute, Nathan Kline) or b) needs specialized analysis not performed by the Research Institute. The contractor will be expected to pick up lab work at any time, including weekends and holidays.

A pickup is defined as each time the contractor is required to pick up a lab specimen(s), no matter the number of pickup calls received. For example, if two (2) calls are made to the Contractor and both specimens can be picked up at the same time, CNYPC will be charged for one pick-up. In addition, pick-up charges are defined as per building.
