Description: CHCANYS is soliciting proposals from an experienced curriculum development consultant who will support the development, review, and implementation of an evidence-based Primary Care Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program curriculum. Through didactic delivery (asynchronous, web-based coursework and in-person, on-site education), the consultant will develop a curriculum that will train apprentices participating in CHCANYS’ inaugural Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Pipeline (MAAP) Program. The resulting curriculum should have a depth of content so that apprentices can begin the program with little-to-no experience and/or background in medical assisting and perform the duties of Medical Assistant with proficiency within 12 month. Additionally, the consultant will provide additional support in ensuring the curriculum meets educational standards set forth by the NYS Department of Education and Department of Labor, while ensuring curriculum provides NYS specific content. Furthermore, the consultant should support CHCANYS staff with developing supplemental training guides and materials for clinical preceptors leading apprentices through both aspects of didactic delivery. Lastly, the consultant will support CHCANYS staff with developing, revising, and delivering asynchronous, web-based apprentice coursework and clinical preceptor training guides will be delivered via CHCANYS’ Learning Management System, hosted in D2L.
