The State University Construction Fund is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide Construction Management services for the following project:

The Natural Sciences Building at SUNY Old Westbury was constructed in 1985 and encompasses 69,400 GSF. It is a teaching and research facility for Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, and Public Health programs. Little renovation work has been completed on the facility since its' opening and many architectural and MEP systems and components are at the end of their useful lives. This project will include a full interior and exterior rehabilitation of the entire facility to preserve and modernize for continued use as the main academic building for the science programs at the college.

To achieve the substantial completion date contemplated, multiple bid packages are currently being considered:

Phase 1: Construction contract package 1 will procurement and fit out of temporary surge space (modular units) and will complete a portion of the building renovation work, which primarily encompasses areas on the first floor of the building. Renovation areas include the existing large 100 seat lab, restrooms, and related support spaces. This package will also include associated MEP replacements serving these areas, related roofing work, site work and exterior renovations.

Phase 2: Construction contract package 2 is TBD and not included in this contract.

The current estimated construction value is approximately $37 million
