NYC Health + Hospitals / Virtual ExpressCare, is a convenient, on-demand urgent care service that enables equitable access to medical, mental health, and substance use services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year over phone or video in 200+ languages. The service has become a valuable, high-quality care alternative to ED use for many of the patients we serve. Virtual ExpressCare has grown rapidly and has treated over 125,000 New Yorkers, including the most vulnerable populations, in large part because of its ability to offer a top-notch customer experience. In January 2022, NYC Health + Hospitals launched and integrated a new tele-behavioral health service into its virtual urgent care platform focusing on the needs of vulnerable and homeless New York residents, a chronically underserved community.
